Why I Hate Android
Why do I hate Android? It’s definitely one of the questions I get asked most often these days. And most of those that don’t ask probably assume it’s because I’m an iPhone guy. People see negative take after negative take about the operating system and label me as “unreasonable” or “biased” or worse.
I should probably explain.
Believe it or not, I actually don’t hate Android. That is to say, I don’t hate the concept of Android — in fact, at one point, I loved it. What I hate is what Android has become. And more specifically, what Google has done with Android.

Roughly Drafted Magazine debunks claims of recent flash performance findings
Daniel Eran Dilger has full in depth article on not only calling out Ozer on his skewed report on how flash has better performance, but points out the real issues with Adobe Flash, he writes:
The problem wasn’t that Ozer faked data to promote Flash; some of his findings actually indicate that even the early beta implementations of HTML5 beat the latest version of Flash in video playback tests. The real issue is that Ozer framed the debate around an absurd premise to shift the conversation from real issues to contrived garbage.

Our favourite HTML5 video player has now been updated with support for the iPhone and iPad. Along with other recent updates for firefox.
We can’t tell you how much we can’t wait for this to be released.

Apple vs HTC Andriod →
The lawsuit on HTC Android by apple is a proxy to go after Google. The whole ordeal is reminiscent of the cold war. Let me draw the parallel if you don’t mind. During the 80’s the US was very much at war with Russia. But the two never entered a direct conflict. This was after WW2 where they both where inadvertently allies to defeat a much greater enemy. Much like Google and Apple vs Microsoft.
It will be very interesting to see where the relationship is in a year from now. Engagdget has a very good breakdown on the patents Apple is trying to defend.
